The Samyang 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS VDSLR Cine Lens is the cine / video version of the Samyang 21mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC CS lens featuring the same excellent optics, but with integrated gearing for video rigs with follow focus systems.
The Samyang 21mm cine lens is a manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C or smaller sized sensor. Equivalent to standard - wide 31.5mm on 1.5x crop APS-C sensor, 34mm on 1.6x Crop (Canon M) or a standard 42mm lens on 2x crop MFT sensor. A great manual focus, low light lens, perfectly suited as a standard prime, fixed focal length walk around lens with general photographic applications.
The VDSLR version features uncoupled aperture and focus gear ring, perfectly suited to video and cine use, and mounting on follow focus rigs.
- Glass aspherical lens (ASP)
- Extra low dispersion lens (ED)
- Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) of Samyang Optics
- Uncoupled aperture and focus gear ring
- Circular aperture with 9 blades
Wide Angle Manual Focus Cine Lens
Samyang Optics 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS is a wide angle manual focus cine lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensor sizes. It is a compact cine lens to capture the broad world. With broad 21mm angle of view and 3 glass aspherical lenses, it provides an opportunity to experience the depth and breadth of image. Samyang 21mm T1.5 can be used for various purposes, especially for portraits.
Cine Lens Features
Samyang 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS allows more delicate video work with T number marks. The focus gear ring is installed for follow focus system. You may change the aperture quietly and smoothly with the uncoupled aperture gear rings. Also, distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience.
Samyang 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS has a low T number (T1.5). You may precisely control the lens when shooting under various exposure environment including relatively dark situations. This lens features 8 glasses in 7 groups including 1 extra low dispersion lens (ED) and 3 glass aspherical lenses (ASP) to offer high resolution throughout the image. Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) of Samyang Optics is used to optimise the light penetration and minimises flare and ghost. With such optical construction, it has 0.28m of minimum Focusing Distance to capture the object in a close distance.
There are 9 aperture blades designed to be almost as a full circle when aperture is closed which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully. The solid frame of the lens is made of high-strength aluminium alloy so you can create trustworthy images. This compact and light-weighted lens is specially designed for mirrorless cameras for portability. Also, detachable petal-shaped lens hood minimises flare and ghost by sheltering lens from unnecessary lights.
