Exceptional performance for cinematography with full frame capability - the Samyang 12mm T3.1 ED AS NCS VDSLR Fisheye Cine Lens is the cine/video version of the Samyang 12mm f2.8 lens featuring the same excellent optics, but with integrated gearing for video rigs with follow focus systems. Full frame compatible, suitable for cameras and interchangeable lens camcorders fitted with full frame or smaller sensors.
The Samyang 12mm fisheye is a manual lens, with manual focus. In terms of the optics, it is one of the most advanced "fisheye” lenses. With excellent build and optical construction, it features 12 lens elements arranged in 8 groups including 3 elements made of low dispersion ED glass and 2 aspherical lens elements ensuring perfect image depth and minimising chromatic aberration.
The Samyang 12mm T3.1 features the highly effective NCS nanocrystal anti-reflection coating applied together with standard UMC coatings provides accurate focus, high contrast and natural colour reproduction even shooting wide open, and it is an excellent lens for use in in diverse lighting conditions with its fast T3.1 aperture. The 7 circular aperture blades create excellent bokeh for such a ultra wide angle lens. The frame of the lens is compact and solid since it is made of high-strength aluminium. The detachable petal-shaped lens hood minimises flare and ghosting.
Fisheye lenses are popular for special effects use where distortion, exaggerated perspective, or extreme depth of field are desired. You may change the aperture quietly and smoothly with the uncoupled aperture gear rings. Also, distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience.

You may control the lens precisely when shooting under various exposure environment including relatively dark or too bright situations. This lens features 12 lenses in 8 groups including 2 glass aspherical lens (ASP), and 3 extra low dispersion lens (ED) to offer high resolution. Also Nano Coating System (NCS) of Samyang Optics is used to optimise the light penetration and minimises flare and ghost. With such optical construction, it has 0.2m of minimum focal length to film subjects in near distance. Stereoscopic projection optical design delivers soft and stabilised fish-eye distortion effect.
There are 7 aperture blades designed to be almost as a full circle when aperture is closed which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully.
